In a bid to raise awareness for Autism, three Illawarra motorbike riders will be riding pint-sized motor scooters over 5000km in a bid to raise money for the much misunderstood condition, Autism.
As a sign of support, Laro Leathers donated and fitted the 3 riders with Motorcycle jackets and gloves for their long journey.
They will be riding from Wollongong to Cairns and back over a three week period in March 2008, incorporating 22 pit stops in towns along the way.
With the growing diagnosis rate of children with Autism (it effects 1 in 160 people in Australia), many families are put on the school’s ever increasing waiting list or are forced to look elsewhere missing out on much needed specialised education.
Funds raised along the way will be used to build new premises, which will significantly reduce the stress that the waiting list causes.
