DALE CORSER WINS IN LARO MOTO-S SUIT
05 Feb 2007
The Corser family has always endured a passion for fast bikes. Both Dale and his older brother Troy started racing motocross and road racing at the early age of 10. By the time Dale turned 20 he changed his focus from fast bikes to fast Jet Skies.

At just 20 years of age, the youngest Corser set career as a professional Jet Skier and Water skier at Australia’s World renowned Sea world Marine Park. As a professional Aquatic Stunt performer, Dale went about working in various countries around the globe such as Germany, Holland, Japan, China and America. It was his trip to America which saw him re-enter the bike racing scene once again racing in the AMA Pro Thunder Class on-board a Factory 748 RS Ducati which saw him take 3rd overall in the 2000 Pro Thunder Championship

Nowadays Dale works for an Australian-Chinese joint venture company named– ARQIN MOTORCYCLES. His winning ways still continue today as he took out 1st place in the Le Minz 24 Hour Scooter race on board his Modified 50cc Scooter held on the beautiful Gold Coast.

Dale completed 996km during the 24 hour scooter race wearing Laro Leather Moto-S race suit. We spoke to Dale after his win…

Q. So you’re back in the racing saddle…this time in a powerful modified scooter – a little different to a ducati 748! But how’s it feel like to be winning again?
A. Yeah you could say it is quite a change from racing the Ducati. But in reality it was no different! I mean yeah the speed is slower but there was only about 1 second a lap difference between the top 5 guys so really you had to treat the race like a sprint race. Meaning you could not just take it easy on the track, come into the pits and have a chat. You had to have your head down, bum up for the entire way if you wanted to challenge the Guinness book of record set at the previous Le Minz 24 race in Melbourne!

Q. So they call this a 24 hour race, but how long are you actually racing at the handle bars for?
A. Yeah it’s definitely a 24 hour race as I mentioned before, no time for a chat! Basically the race starts at 2.00pm and goes till 2.00pm the next day! There is a mandatory pit stop for 15mins every 3 hours. This is mainly used to eat some food and check your position also to make any adjustments to the machine like adjustments to the ride height, soften the pre load! Only joking! Just add some fuel really.

Q. That sounds pretty intense. So how did you feel being in the Laro Moto-S suit for those many hours?
A. To tell you the truth, I never really felt like I was wearing a race suit! To me that says a lot! I have worn race suits in the past for a 40 min Moto and just couldn’t wait to get out of the thing! It actually rained for 6 hours during the 2006 Le minz 24 hour and I had to keep racing till the next 15 min break which wasn’t for another 3 hours! On the next break I put a rain suit over the top of the Laro race suit and it still felt comfortable.

Q. One of the key characteristics of the MOTO-S suit is the perforated front body and back. Did the ventilation do much to assist you in comfort and keeping you cool enough to focus on your riding?
A. Definitely! In the rain, a little water got in just like any other suit would, but with the perforated design it allowed the air to circulate really well which made the suit dry out quicker then a standard suit would. The temperature reached into the high 30,s during the day time and I was glad that I was wearing the perforated design.

Q. Another characteristic of the MOTO-S suit, are the specifically placed flex zones. How did this help in maneuvering yourself on such a small bike?
A. Yeah good point. I am 5 foot 11 inches but I tell everyone I am 6 foot! Hahaha what’s an inch between friends right? Nah really! Because of the excellent handling and design of the ARQIN SPRINT 50 I was really able to race this bike like a Road bike so I was almost dragging my knee and the extra flex zones really helped me use this racing technique to win our class.

Q. One other important aspect which went into the design of our suit was that we wanted to use less seams throughout the suit. Fewer seams reduce the chance of tearing at the seam in case of a fall. Knowing this, does it raise your confidence when your going that little bit quicker in a turn?
A. Yeah for sure. Racing the ARQIN SPRINT 50 your top speed is around 75km, but even still, picture how messed up you would be if you feel out of a car traveling 75km! I know I would not want to be in a poorly designed race suit when I roll across the asphalt. This has always been one of my main concerns with racing! I need to feel safe. If I feel safe I feel like I can go even faster! That comes down to just feeling confident, and in racing that’s very important. The Laro suit definitely gives me that confidence weather I am racing at 75km or 275km.

Q. Any final words regarding the MOTO-S suit?
A. I would like to thank the Laro Boys for letting me wear the suit and I know this definitely helped me break the existing record and take win on the ARQIN SPRINT 50.

Thanks for your time.
